The main aim of holding this peace rally on the Budh Purnina is to contribute to the world peace where the sensitivity of the Human to other forms of life is highlighted.

compassion-action-butterlamps.jpgBylakuppe - India, May 18, 2007: Putting into action the words of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Tibetan Volunteers for Animals (TVA) has started a 2 month long program to give basic teachings on Buddhism to the Tibetan people in south. His Holiness during his last visit to Hunsur and Bylakuppe in January suggested to organize programs to teach the basics of Buddhism to the layman.

 

board-meeting-jamphel.jpgTVA Administrative Office, Mysore (India), April 18, 2007: Tbetan Volunteers for Animals (TVA) held its Annual 'Board of Directors' meeting to discuss on various issues and plans to develop more effective program strategies. It was more like an Annual General Meeting as many issues other than the Board affairs were also discussed. The total duration of the meeting was about 12 hours as the meeting continued the next day.

A two day vegetarian campaign was held in Tashi Jong (Himachal Pradesh) during the annual Tsechu Lama dances. On 1st April, the activists of Tibetan Volunteers for Animals showed a documentary film on vegetarianism and animal rights which was attended by the monks of Phuntsok Chokorling monastery, Khampagar Institute and the Tashi Jong local Community.

The members of Tibetan Volunteers for Animals visited CST Chauntra to spread awareness on vegetarianism to school children and staffs. 

February 18, 2007 Home for the Aged & Disabled, Lugsam Settlement # 2, Bylakuppe, India: For every Tibetan, Losar – the Tibetan New Year is a day of celebration and gathering of family and friends. Parents would wait eagerly for their children who are far away, to come home and spend time with them during Losar. It’s a very special day for any Tibetan but for those who have been separated from their family or those who doesn’t have anyone to call their own; it’s a day that would remind them of their lost ones.

Thousands of people attended the 18th Nyingma Monlam Chenmo held at Bodhgaya from 21st of Jan till the 28th January, especially to pray for WORLD PEACE.  

Sera Monastery, Bylakuppe 16th January 2007 07:00PM: Tibetan Volunteers for Animals (TVA) activists made a presence during the Jamyang Gunchoe at Sera Monastery Bylakuppe. TVA activists screened a video on the plight of animals to more than 3000 monks who had gathered to see the video.
